About Us - Guilds

In 1999 a group of individuals with big hearts founded The Big Hearts for Little Hearts (BHLH). The founders deeply believed in Loma Linda University Children’s Hospital (LLUCH) and have since put their effort towards supporting its mission. The sole purpose of the guild is to support and enhance the care provided to hospitalized children and their families at Loma Linda University Children’s Hospital.

Since its inception in 1999 the Big Hearts for Little Hearts Guild has been backed by individuals and groups across the Inland Empire and throughout Southern California. The response from the community at large has been so great that the guild has since added a number of other chapters to expand its effective reach beyond Loma Linda.

Each chapter of the Big Hearts for Little Hearts Guild is compassionatley guided by a group of individuals. These groups are comprised of leaders from the Coachella Valley (desert), Loma Linda, Riverside and the Temecula Valley areas. The officers and board members are responsible for the direction and management of guild funds and events.

Events

A major source of funding for the guild comes from events. The various chapters of the Guild plan and host a number of events each year with the proceeds from the events going back to LLUCH or projects to support the LLUCH mission. Several of these major events are held annually and consistently raise funds that help the Guild operate. This, along with membership dues, allows the Guild to impact the children and family at LLU Children’s Hospital.

The Guild also hosts and plans fun, non-fundraising activities for the patients throughout the year. Guild members know the significance that fun, stress relieving experiences can have on a child’s recovery and provide opportunities for the children at the hospital to engage with other hospitalized children and caring individuals from the community.
